About

I am a freelance writer and historian based in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges outside Melbourne.

With qualifications in writing, cultural heritage management, and history, I have worked in a variety of public programs and research roles in the arts and cultural sector. I have researched a diverse range of subjects—everything from fanzines to the gold rushes—and my writing has appeared in brochures, exhibitions, interpretative signage, heritage reports, peer-reviewed journals, and other history publications. My current research focuses on women, families, and communities on the 19th century goldfields in Australia and New Zealand.

This site is a work in progress and will soon feature a mix of my academic, professional and personal research, plus musings on books, musicals, folk music, and other eclectic interests.
